Fate Recognition starts with palmistry as an everyday visual language: a familiar system that promises to read a life from a hand. The project turns that promise back into a question about self-recognition, memory and the unstable authority of a sign.
Final work
Photography and video place the hand, its drawn lines and a sequence of gestures in relation to each other. The final project does not prove a destiny. It stages the desire to read one and the uncertainty that follows.
Process
Experiments included drawing hand-lines at different scales, recording gestures and arranging leaves into a palm-shaped land drawing. These images remain process documentation and are not presented as separate mature works.
Research
The research considered palmistry diagrams, bodily aesthetics and the way repeated gestures become personal signs. The project archive preserves these sources as research context while distinguishing them from the finished photography and video work.
